High in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in Western Uganda, is the small community of Kalingwe. There are over 100 smallholder farmers from 3 separate groups of coffee farmers in the area. Our friends at Agri Evolve have been working with farmers in the region for over 5 years, providing support and training; having a noticeable benefit on harvesting practices over that period.

Coffee cherries are only picked once fully ripened; and then transported down to the Agri Evolve Coffee Station, located within the valley. After they are carefully assessed and graded, the cherries are then sun-dried for approximately 20 days before hulling, cleaning and bagging.

We’ve had some lovely Ugandan coffees from the Rwenzoris over the past few years, and this coffee certainly lives up to expectation! It has all of the bright and fruity flavour you’d expect from an SL variety, with a creamy texture and smooth mouthfeel. Give it a go on filter for full flavour clarity.
