Ancoats Coffee Shop
Drink & experience our coffeeAncoats Coffee Shop. Originally conceived as a setting to showcase our coffee, it has grown to become much more than that. It has become a hub for coffee lovers, the professional and the curious. Here we bring together community, hospitality, and great shared experiences around wholesome food and fantastic coffee.
The coffee shop has become the focal point of the roastery and our expanding program of interesting activities and events encompasses everything from public cuppings, intimate supper clubs and home brewing workshops, to barista challenges and SCA competitions.
Our roastery and coffee shop are reflections of each other, with each one contributing to make the whole something greater than the sum of its parts.

Speciality Coffee Selection
Here at Ancoats Coffee Co, we’ve been roasting specialty coffee in the Royal Mills since 2013. Every cup we serve is a nod to the craft, character and history of our neighbourhood, and the communities around us.
Our Head Roaster handpicks our single estate coffees for their unique flavours. Our flagship Warehouse Espresso is a firm favourite, a single origin from Brazil and a tribute to the historic mills where our cafe calls home. We also have our Graphene range that changes with the seasons, bringing new and exciting profiles from farms around the world.
You can enjoy our coffee however you like it – V60 pour over, Aeropress, Chemex, or Clever Dripper, made from beans sourced from farms we work closely with and are proud to support in Brazil, Burundi, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico and Uganda. And if you prefer things caffeine-free, our speciality decaf has all the flavour, just without the kick.
Pop into the café to try something new, or take a bag home with you. You’ll also find all our coffees, plus a few seasonal favourites in our online shop. If you’re not close to the shop and want great coffee on repeat, you can also set-up a subscription, so your next brew isn’t too far away.
Sustainability - From Farm to Cup
Sustainability has always been at the heart of Ancoats Coffee Co. From day one, our founder, Jamie Boland, dedicated his time to work directly with farms that share our values and source ethically. Every single origin coffee we roast can be traced back to a sustainable farm we trust and are proud to work with.
Our green beans are delivered straight to Ancoats, where we roast everything fresh on-site at our café in Royal Mills. From there, the journey continues – brewed for our community in the café, or taken home for you to enjoy as part of your daily ritual.
Every step, from sourcing, to roasting, to serving, is about keeping things local, supporting communities, transparency and sustainability. The way we believe great coffee should be.
Coffee Roasting In House
We roast in house most days right here in Ancoats, so when you visit, you’ll often catch the smell of freshly roasted coffee drifting through the café. It’s all part of the experience – seeing what goes into every cup, from bean to brew.
Our Baristas are always happy to chat about what’s on the roaster or guide you through our freshly roasted coffee menu, whether you’re after an espresso, filter or cold brew.
If you’re a fan, you can buy our beans to take home, or we’ll grind them for you free of charge to suit your home brewing setup – just let us know.
Food Options
Good coffee deserves good food. Our counter is always stocked with freshly prepared sandwiches and bagels, reading for toasting.
You’ll also find a tempting selection of locally baked pastries, cakes, and breads, sourced from local partners and bakeries who care about quality as much as we do. Expect buttery croissants, rich Dubai chocolate cake and our much loved Banana bread loaf alongside a few sweet seasonal specials.
Everything is sourced locally with care, to pair perfectly with your brew – whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite to take away or a slow morning catch-up in the café .
