Brew Guide: Aeropress

Tools you will need

  • AeroPress
  • Brewing Vessel
  • Pouring Kettle
  • Digital Scale
  • Timer
  • Stirring Utensil

Ingredients

  • 16g of freshly ground filter coffee
  • 240ml of Water

Brew Time

  • 1 Minute 45 Seconds

Step 1

Measure and grind your 16g of filter coffee on a medium to coarse grind, you are looking for a grind about as fine as table salt.

Step 2

Assemble your AeroPress with a fresh filter in the cap, boil your kettle (if your kettle allows to 94°C) and position your aeropress in the inverted position displayed in the picture above.  Then preheat the brewer and rinse the filter with hot water. This gets rid of any paper flavor and warms everything up.

Step 3

Add the 16g of ground coffee to the aeropress.

Step 4

Tare the scale, start the timer and pour 240ml of water just off the boil or at 94°C if your kettle allows.

Step 5

After 30 seconds stir the coffee 5 times and then affix the filter cap with the filter paper attached.

Step 6

After 1 Minute 15 Seconds, flip you’re inverted Aeropress onto your brewing vessel and then push the plunger down. The plunge should take you 30 seconds, if its too hard to push your may need to coarsen your grind, too quick and you may need to make your grind finer.

Step 7

Remove the aeropress from the brewing vessel. Then remove the grounds and filter paper from the aeropress and clean.

Step 8

Serve and enjoy your coffee.
