Henry Gomez has worked closely with the producers of this coffee to offer a balanced insight into the very best the region has to offer. The producer group is called Asocafe Tatamá; a young generation of 180 quality-driven farmers in Risalda, Santuario who are part of the Asocafe Tatamá association. The farms are located next to the eastern side of the Tatamá National Park. The coffees they produce are renowned for their sweet, floral, & fruity notes.

Caturra is a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety. It tends to have brighter acidity & a lighter body when compared to Bourbon. Both Castillo & Variedad Colombia are hybrid varieties, developed by Cenicafé (Colombia’s national coffee research centre) by crossing Caturra with Hibrido de Timor; intended to help bolster crop resilience against leaf rust.
This coffee has undergone a washed process. This means that the outer skin and mucilage have been removed through water before being dried out. During this process, the farm in Santuario have pledged to use organic fertilisers and chemical free pest control. Asocafe Tatamá are very conscious about the planet and their environmental impact.
