The Solis family operate their own micro-mill ‘Alto El Vapor’ in the rural area of Santa María de Dota. The altitude of the farm reaches up to 2,000 meters above sea level, and the mill itself takes its name from the natural phenomenon of fog settling at these high elevations. Mayra Solis is a lifelong coffee farmer, and the family business is run and operated by herself and her three children – Eduardo, Delfina & Dalila.

Catuaí is a widely cultivated variety in Costa Rica. It’s a hybrid of Caturra & Mundo Novo cultivars. There are both red and yellow-fruited cherry varieties, with mild flavour differences between the two. Both are renowned for producing an easy-drinking, balanced cup profile.

This coffee is a particularly clean natural, with a relatively light body given the processing. We’re delighted to be able to showcase it as our Christmas coffee for this year. We hope you enjoy it, and are able to share it with loved ones over the festive season.
